The three people who perished in a raging house fire in Oxford on Saturday, March 23, along with a dog have been identified.
The Connecticut State Police identified two of the home's residents as being Karl Maseizik, 54, and his brother Chris “Bubs” Maseizik, 53.
The third person was identified as Nanci N. Southwell, 71, believed to be a longtime companion of one of the brothers.
The fire was discovered on O'Neil Road around 11:20 p.m., Saturday after the Oxford Fire Department received more than dozen 911 calls. When firefighters arrived on the scene, officials say the house was completely engulfed in flames.
The department had to call in mutual aid for tankers full of water. There are no fire hydrants in the area. It took more than an hour to douse the flames and surrounding foliage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
According to obituaries posted by the Carpino Funeral Home of Southbury, the family of the brothers is seeking help to pay for funerals for their loved ones.
